Temple Grandin

Having an Autism Spectrum Disorder does not mean no success; there are many people who have been diagnosed and even speculated of having Aspergers that have gone on to do great things.

Temple Grandin was diagnosed with autism as a child and went on to pursue work in psychology and animal science. In 2009, she was named a fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. She developed a tool based on the containers used to pacify cattle during immunizations because of how she felt when her anxiety rose ("Temple Grandin Biography").

John Elder Robison is the author of RaisingChubby, Look Me in the Eye, My Life with Asperger's, and Be Different-adventures of a free range Aspergian. He grew up with Asperger's Syndrome and has gone on to become a tremendous success story. He is an active speaker and advocate for people on the Autism Spectrum and serves on the Scientific and Treatment boards of Autism Speaks.
