My brother Uriah was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at a young age. He was considered to be in the middle of the spectrum but is now labled as having Asperger's Syndrome. Uriah experienced difficulties socially and this impacted daily life for him. He started out with a very limited vocabulary and his behavior was out of control. The lack of communication was really hard on our parents. Our mother worked with him constantly, mostly ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis). It has been a long process,  and he currently goes to weekly meetings with his pyschologist Dr. Emilio Amigo, where he meets with other young adults that are on the spectrum. He attends a charter school for people that are on the spectrum. He has been attending Oakstone Academy in Westerville Ohio (he was on a 3 year wait list) since his seventh grade year.  He is now in a vocational program where he is learning to become a plumber. During his internship over the summer, Uriah and others were featured in the Columbus Dispatch for their hard work. He has worked very hard to get to where he is today.
